Q.: What are Managed Services and Managed Service Providers?
A.:Managed Services is the practice of transferring day-to-day process and management responsibility of a specific corporate function as a strategic method to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of that function. Many corporate functions can be delegated to managed service providers, but Information Technology (IT) management and operations is the most common. The scope of services can be very narrow or extremely broad. For example, patching, data backup and network penetration testing can be offered as individual services to companies that wish to maintain overall control of their IT operations or bundled together as part of a comprehensive IT outsourcing service for companies that don’t want the distraction of IT management.

The primary difference between Managed Services and other forms of IT services is that the other business models (break/fix, system integration, project management) are event triggered. When something breaks, the vendor is called in to fix it. The vendor bills the client for the service with hourly charges. In the managed services model, the client purchases a Service Level Agreement and it is the vendor’s responsibility to meet the SLA performance metrics. The client pays a fixed monthly fee for a fixed level of service and performance.

The benefits of the managed services approach are:

Alignment
– the Managed Service Provider’s interests are better aligned with the client’s interest in the managed services model. In the break/fix model, the vendor makes money when the client has a problem. More problems, more time, more money. Managed Services Providers receive the same amount of revenue regardless of how many hours they work, so they have no reason to create reasons to go on site and every reason to use best practices and technologies to ensure the client has a smoothly and effectively operating  IT infrastructure.

Operational effectiveness
– the managed services model enables a managed services provider to apply consistent, proactive and preventative maintenance to the client’s network devices, hardware and software. The team knows the infrastructure, knows the history of each incident and device, and knows both the problem users and power users within the organization. The MSP can therefore troubleshoot issues and understand and mitigate the operational impact of outages faster.

Budgeting
for IT is much easier in the managed services model. No sudden cost spikes. Fixed monthly fee for IT support and maintenance services which can then be included in the company’s financial plan

Q.: What is Craztech's Privacy Policy?

A.: Craztech collects data regarding our Members in two ways, 1) network monitoring, and 2) portal activity monitoring.

The network monitoring platform is Managed Services, which is the most commonly deployed Remote Monitoring and Management platform in the world. Over 3,500 IT outsourcers use Managed Services to monitor and support over ten thousand user sites and millions of IT assets.. Data is obtained via an application called IT Center which is installed on the Member's network. It collects data and makes regularly scheduled outbound connections to the Craztech platform via secure SSL connections. Our servers are hosted at one of the United States' leading data centers with world class security infrastructure and policies in place. The only people who have access to a Member's IT asset information are the designated people from the Member company, the engineers providing IT support to the Member, and the Craztech business intelligence engine which collects statistics and identifies common requirements amongst Members.

The IT infrastructure information we manage includes absolutely no user data, no user documents, no passwords. The information is limited to data about the make, model, configuration, and performance of IT assets on the Member's network. Taken individually, this information is only useful for support purposes. In aggregate, it is hugely valuable for market research and common requirement identification purposes. The information is used to support Members on the Full and Services plans and to obtain for them the best deals possible on the IT products they need.

Craztech NEVER releases any data to any third party. We tell Marketers about the aggregate profile of our membership and allow them to make their best offers to our platform. We then distribute the right promotion to the right Member at the right time. No Marketer learns of the Member's identity unless the Member responds to a promotion.
